Kandice Adamson TributePublished by HeavenlyTributes.Kandice Rae (McLaughlin) Adamson passed away peacefully at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country (St. Louis), Missouri on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was the only child of Deana McLaughlin and Mark Dockery. Kandice grew up in Cherryvale, KS where she attended elementary and high school. Kandice was raised by her grandparents Joe McLaughlin and Dee McLaughlin and lived with them in Cherryvale. She attended Emporia State University and also studied theater at Independence Community College. Kandice met Chad Adamson in Independence, Kansas while she was attending one of his music performances. They became friends and soon started dating in 2002. They both moved to Branson and eventually married on March 27, 2010. They divorced on December 1, 2021. They had no children and continued to remain best friends and lived together until the time of her death.
Kandice worked with Chad to build a ticket business in Branson, Missouri that they ran from their home for 9 years. Kandice worked at various retail jobs including CATO Fashions in Branson as an assistant manager. She worked there until she recently became ill with cancer. Kandice loved meeting and helping people. She also loved animals including a pet Lovebird named “Monkey” and a Cavapoo dog named “Lady” who was her companion for 14 years. Kandice was an avid reader of various books which she liked to collect. She also sold ColorStreet products in her spare time. Kandice liked many styles of music, but had become a big fan of Def Leppard and other rock groups. Kandice and Chad attended several rock concerts during their time together.
Kandice was preceded in death by her mother Deana Campbell, grandparents Joe and Dee McLaughlin, and aunt Terri McLaughlin. Kandice is survived by her ex-husband Chad Adamson of Branson, Missouri, her father Mark Dockery of Wellington, Kansas, her half-brother Kenneth Dockery of Wellington, Kansas, her half-sister Olivia Ankrom of Wellington, Kansas, her aunts Carol McLaughlin Shelby of Independence, Kansas, and Stacy McLaughlin of Cherryvale, Kansas, and cousins Jessica McLaughlin and spouse Danny (and her children Lyberti, Justice) of Cherryvale, Kansas, and Kimberly (Derek) Davis (and their children Bentley, Alec, Joei, Evelynn, TyLeigh) of Cherryvale, Kansas, and Ronda Shepard of Wichita, Kansas, and her mother-in-law Ione Smith of Branson, Missouri, and brother-in-law Greg (Lisa) Girard of Hollister Missouri.
Kandice’s family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.Cremation has taken place at Monarch Cremation in Florissant, Missouri. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Branson Community Center - 201 Compton Dr, Branson, MO 65616 on Saturday, May 16th at 2:00 pm. Anyone who wants to attend is welcome.
A second Celebration of Life Service will be held in Cherryvale, Kansas, with the date and time to be announced.Kandice Adamson
